Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum) is een bruinrode paddenstoel van circa 10 tot 25 centimeter groot. In Nederland kennen we deze schimmel als lakzwam. Ze groeien voornamelijk op stronken van oude bomen zoals eiken en beuken. In China wordt de Reishi al ruim 2000 jaar gebruikt. De reputatie is erg indrukwekkend, ze noemen hem daar dan ook Lingzhi, wat paddenstoel van onsterfelijkheid betekent. In de traditionele Chinese geneeskunde gebruiken ze Lingzhi voor verschillende doelen.
